Skyline Hands Jesuit its 1st District Loss 43-24

Senior RB Joshua Wilkins ran for 104 yards and a touchdown on 17 carries and sophomore WR RaShaad Samples caught six passes for 145 yards and a touchdown as Skyline took advantage of Jesuit’s mistakes to win 43-24. Skyline QBs sophomore DeVante Kincade and junior Samuel Seward combined to throw for 344 yards and four touchdowns as Skyline met little to no resistance against a porous Jesuit defense. “We didn’t execute,” says senior DL Peter Wendel, “We have to be able to stop offenses or else we won’t stand a chance against other teams.”Senior WR Blake Vierling and sophomore WR Jake Oliver combined for 20 receptions for 310 yards and a touchdown while making up for the loss of Senior WR Brian Wetzel, who left in the second quarter with an ankle injury. However, Jesuit could not translate their large yardage gains into points as they committed four turnovers, resulting in 10 points for Skyline.Senior QB Mike Savage threw for 448 yards and two touchdowns but also threw two interceptions. Jesuit’s next game will be against Richardson High School at Richardson’s Eagle-Mustang Stadium.
