Tom Brady ended his 2022-2023 season on a low note, with the Bucs winning the NFC South division with a record of 8-9. This shows a lack of competition in their poor division. The Buccaneers were destroyed by the Dallas Cowboys 31-14 in the Wild Card round. Many think his time with the Bucs will likely end, but he will probably not retire this year. The real question is which team Tom will go to. Tom Brady has listed teams that he wants to play for: the Raiders, 49ers, Patriots, and Bucs. I will explain why Tom Brady would play for each team and why he might not, with a personal review of how good the chances are for each team.

Raiders

The Raiders have the best odds of getting Tom Brady to play for their team. There are many reasons for Tom Brady to come to play for the Las Vegas Raiders. The best reason is that he will be reunited with his old offensive coordinator, Josh McDaniels. He will also have a top 5 receiver in Davante Adams, who this season had 1,516 receiving yards, the 3rd most in the NFL. The location of the Raiders being in Las Vegas also will be something that will attract Tom Brady. Also, there is a chance that Gronk (his former New England/Bucs wide receiver) might come to Las Vegas. Las Vegas is a huge party city, which will be something that might attract Gronk.

For the Raiders, it is also a win for them. They recently let go of their long-time QB Derek Carr, meaning they desperately need a QB. The Raiders already have the 12th-best offense. With the addition of Tom Brady, it can boost that a lot. However, there are also drawbacks to signing with Las Vegas, mainly because they have one of the worst defenses, the 6th-worst defense in the league. Also, it is doubtful that the addition of Tom Brady alone will make them a Super Bowl contender.

Patriots

The New England Patriots have also been on Tom Brady’s radar as a team to play for. With this option, Tom Brady can have the incredible story of returning to his old team, with whom he played 20 seasons. He came basically like Lebron James when he came to Cleveland and won them a title. Tom Brady can end his legacy on a high note on the team he played for most in his career. The Patriots are also not a terrible team, with the 17th-best offense and, most importantly, the 11th-best defense. Adding Tom Brady can make them a playoff team and, with some more additions, a Super Bowl contender.

It will also be a benefit for the New England Patriots. Tom Brady can mentor the young Mac Jones and teach him to be the next outstanding QB for the New England Patriots. This can guarantee the Patriots will have a long time success in Mac Jones for years to come. Now, there are many problems with him coming to the Patriots, with the first being that he had a bitter exit from New England. So, he might not want to return to the team that just gave up on him.

49ers

Tom Brady is a long-time 49ers fan, so it would be a dream for him to play for the team he cheered for as a kid. The 49ers already have an elite offense being the 6th best in the NFL, boasting weapons like an elite running back, Christian McCaffrey, and wide receiver Deebo Samuel. Their offense is also the best in the league, which will significantly help Tom Brady. There is also the fact that the 49ers have yet to have an elite QB (yet), with their two best options being Trey Lance, who has only played two games so far in the gold and crimson. The 49ers are an elite QB away from winning the Super Bowl. Like the Raiders, the 49ers’ location in San Francisco will appeal to Tom Brady, which will be an excellent place for Tom Brady to retire and be his hometown city.

Now they are different from the team that wants someone like the 46-year-old Tom Brady for their team. The 49er’s already have invested a lot into getting Trey Lance, and they already have a good backup QB in Jimmy Garoppolo, not to mention Brock Purdy. Also, Tom Brady might not want to play with Garoppolo because he was supposed to replace him in New England. Overall, the 49ers would be an excellent team for Tom Brady to play for, but they do not need him, and the expensive price tag.

Chance of Coming: Low

New York Jets

The New York Jets had an okay season this year, going 7-10, but they have a lot of young talent. They started off very strong in the first half of the season, possibly reaching the playoffs for the first time since 2010. Many argue that all they need is an elite QB to make them a playoff team or even a contender, and Tom Brady can do just that. Their current quarterback situation is a mess with Zach Wilson being very selfish and playing poorly, and Mike White is good but not a long-lasting QB. If the Jets add Tom Brady, they can make their offense deadly with weapons like Garrett Wilson, who is only a rookie, but a great wide receiver. Their defense is also very elite, with them being the 4th best defense, which is good for Tom Brady.

There is also the fact that going to the Jets will get the New England Patriots organization mad. He will also be able to play against the Patriots twice a year, which will make so many memorable games. But the real question is, does Brady want to play for a team like the Jets? The Jets have a long history of shooting themselves in the foot and just being a terrible franchise. Tom Brady might just be stepping into a terrible trap, or he could potentially be stepping into a team that will put his legacy through the roof.

Tennessee Titans

Like the Jets, the Titans are only an elite QB from being a Super Bowl contender. They have a good offense with the best running back, Derrick Henry, playing next to Tom Brady, which will significantly reduce pressure in the passing game. They also have the 14th-best offense, meaning that Tom Brady does not have to do all the work for his team. But the best thing might be how weak the Titan’s conference is. The only tough team Tom Brady will have to play against is Trevor Lawrence’s Jacksonville Jaguars, which will be a massive positive for Tom Brady. Also, if he stays long enough, he can play in a 2 billion dollar new stadium.

The only problem with this team is why Tom Brady wants to go to Nashville, Tennessee. Not trying to offend people from Tennessee, but for Tom Brady, why would he want to be in TENNESSEE instead of Las Vegas or San Fran? It could be a more attractive place for someone like Tom Brady.

Chance of Coming: Okay

Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Currently, Fox Betting has the Bucs as having the best odds of getting Tom Brady at +200. The Bucs have an okay defense at 13th, but their offense/running game is terrible. During Tom Brady’s game against the Cowboys in the first round of the playoffs, he passed for a personal record 66 times. Because of this, Tom Brady does not want to return to the Bucs. There are talks of his conflict with head coach Todd Bowles, and he wants to get a fresh start somewhere else.
