“In my opinion, Ursuline did a phenomenal job running the freshman/sophomore homecoming dance.  Their new amphitheater provided the perfect space for many different activities including live dances, yard games & Casino games as well.  In all of my years of experience the 2022 homecoming was the best ever in my book.” – freshman counsler Mr. Murphy

Jesuit Dallas hosted its annual lowerclassmen homecoming dance last Saturday, October 22nd.

Overflown with limos and cars of all sorts, the Ursuline campus buzzed with excitement last Saturday as freshmen and sophomores alike danced, ate, and played games. As you exited your car and entered the dance, a large balloon archway greeted you with vibrant colors of green, blue, pink, and yellow. Walking towards the main dance floor, you passed numerous tables offering different casino games. Students made and lost monopoly money through strategic bets or unintelligent bluffs. Moving toward the dance, Jesuit and Ursuline students packed the floor, dancing to throwback classics and new-release hits played by a DJ.

The dance was applauded by students and faculty alike. One Ursuline student, Audrey Sloan, said “it was magical,” while Leo Hernandez exclaimed, “it was a movie!” His fellow classmate Josue declared that “it was a fantasy!” Freshman Counselor Mr. Murphy offered his praise saying His colleague, sophomore counselor Mr. Williams, remarked “Given the fact that I’ve been at a lot of them… I think it was the most organized and smooth… I thought the fact that it was outside was risky but overall a really nice night.” Mr. Ornelas also offered his praise, saying: “I have been volunteering at this event for many years. Students had the opportunity to take photos, have ice cream, participate in yard games, and have a great time dancing. It seems the students participated in many activities throughout the night and it was a great success. Thank you to Ursuline for hosting the Freshman and Sophomore Homecoming Celebration!”

Overview

The annual Jesuit-Ursuline freshman-sophomore homecoming dance was an outstanding event. The students enjoyed themselves from 7:00 to 10:00 through activities such as dancing, casino games, and catching up with friends. This success helps to build new relationships and strengthen old ones between the student bodies at Jesuit and Ursuline. Homecoming will return in the fall of next year as the class of ’27 carries on this fun tradition.
