Jesuit College Preparatory School has been known to produce top athletes in all sports, and just this past year, 25 graduates from the class of 2014 committed to playing various sports at the college level. Just recently, another impressive invitation was given to upcoming Senior Bo Schneider, Jesuit’s starting quarterback, from The University of Central Florida. Schneider will play for UCF after graduating this coming spring.
According to Bo, playing college football has been a dream of his since his freshman year, and he now he has been given the chance to make his dream a reality. Bo explained that nobody particularly pushed him to play college football, and he stated that it was “my goal” to go to the next level.
Nothing comes without hard work, especially a scholarship to play college football and Bo knows this first hand. Over the years, Bo has developed into an elite quarterback, and varsity football head coach Brandon Hickman has seen it happen with his own eyes. Coach Hickman stated Bo  “has gotten stronger, he has gotten bigger, his arm strength and accuracy with the ball has gotten better.” Coach Hickman explained that Bo’s commitment to offseason and summer workouts was key to building his strength and size.
UCF will be gaining a great weapon when Bo starts his college football career there. Over the years, Bo has developed into a considerably superb quarterback that any college would be lucky to have on their side of the ball. Coach Hickman can testify to this: Bo has “good football smarts” and “good football savvy. He knows his reads and what he’s looking at.”
Not only does Bo have the ability to run the Jesuit offense well and make smart plays, but also he is a great leader on the field. Coach Hickman beamed, “He is doing a good job as a leader. That’s an area where every day we improve. I think he’s done a tremendous job from last year to now leading the team.” Coach Hickman continued, “I think that’s a role he’s embraced and I’m excited to see him progress with his leadership over the season.” Bo hopes to take his leadership role with him at UCF: “I think my time will come at UCF where I will be a vocal leader and be a man to lead the team.”
Bo received offers from other schools but decided that UCF was best for him, describing it as “the perfect fit.” Bo explained that the facilities and location are great. He also remarked about how much he loved the coaching staff. Not only does he like the staff and facilities, but he also said, “I’ve met some of the other players and I feel like I have already connected with them.”
For Bo, it is a dream come true to play football at UCF, and Coach Hickman thinks “he will develop into an outstanding quarterback down the road.” Bo has been a tremendous quarterback and leader here at Jesuit, and he will continue to do great things at UCF in the coming years.
