“Interact is an international Rotary-sponsored organization of community leaders who create positive, lasting change in their local communities and the global community through a motto of “service above self”. The name “Interact” is a call to International Action – it is a call to service and a call to increased international understanding.” – Jesuit Dallas
On February 5th, on a Sunday morning, Interact Service members from Jesuit Dallas pooled together to help others. For Sunday’s service, they brought in goods to raise funds for poorer neighbors. They brought in household items, furniture, electronics, and clothing to help people in need. Because of the goods, they could then be sold at a thrift store and from this to pay for food, electricity, and rent for those in need.
“It was a great experience for the kids” – Dr. Riemer
This is an excellent example of Jesuit organizations giving back to communities in need. I think this is an important aspect of the formation of Jesuit students. This gets students involved with others and shows us how important being grateful for what you have is. I think it was very impressive that our community was able to fill such a large truck with goods.
“I enjoyed helping out “- Luke Boyd
If you are interested in service or the St. Vincent De Paul program there will be a food drive later this month. Please come donate and support!
