We are already in week three of the new season, and that’s now two straight disappointing Sundays for Cowboys fans. It’s not the end of the world, but it’s getting close to it for the Cowboys. But enough of that, it’s the National Football League, not the Texas Football League. Here are five overreactions for week three of the NFL season.

Bryce Young was the problem in Carolina and the Panthers should have benched him earlier

As much as I would like to defend Bryce Young for Carolina’s inability to score effectively, it’s very difficult to do that after Andy Dalton throws for 319 yards and 3 touchdowns en route to the best offensive output by Carolina since Bryce Young was drafted. That is a horrible look for Bryce Young because he has struggled since he has gotten into the league. Anyway, this next week is what really makes or breaks the deal for Bryce Young. If the Andy Dalton led Panthers can somehow pull off a win over the Cincinnati Bengals with another incredible offensive performance, then that really ruins Bryce Young’s chances in Carolina. Because unless Andy Dalton gets injured or traded, the Panthers will continue to ride the train until it falls off the tracks. And at the end of the day, this is the smartest thing Carolina can do, because they can’t give Bryce Young infinite chances to produce. This is a production-base league, and he has to earn his spot.

The Dallas Cowboys are worse than an average team and they might not even be playoff worthy

While I am extensively disappointed with the Cowboys performance in the first three quarters, I have chosen to ignore that for this article. What I am choosing to focus on is the fact that the Cowboys are 1-2, and their schedule still includes multiple top 10 teams such as the Houston Texans, San Fransisco 49ers, Detroit Lions, Pittsburgh Steelers, Atlanta Falcons, and the Philadelphia Eagles. They could so possibly be screwed. Assume they win one matchup against the Eagles, pull off a win against the Steelers and Falcons, and win the matchups against bad teams. That would put them at 11-6 at the very best. That would most likely put them in the playoffs, but it most definitely won’t win the division and would put them at best the fifth seed in the NFC. And they cannot win multiple road games with the team they have rostered. They have to figure out what the scheming issue is, or sign a free agent that can fill a hole. Whatever they do, it has to happen fast or they will not be successful at any degree this season.

Tua Tagovailoa is better than I gave him credit for and without him the Dolphins are burning bag of potatoes

For the longest time, I thought that Tua Tagovailoa wasn’t very good and was carried by his offense. Today I realize that he is actually skilled and the Dolphins are not going to produce anything on offense without Tua. While I stand by my statement that Tua should retire to not risk another head injury, I do admit that the Dolphins are screwed without him. The Dolphins scored 3 points, on a field goal. That field goal was scored on a drive in which the Dolphins started on Seattle’s six-yard line. That is incredibly bad. Skylar Thompson played horribly. And what’s even worse, the Dolphins have lost another QB when Thompson went down with an injury during the third quarter. Regardless, I don’t know if the QB situation will improve with Tyler Huntley or Tim Boyle throwing passes. But until Tua gets back, the Dolphins will not have a competent offense. Luckily for them, they have a fairly easy schedule for the next few weeks, so they need to take advantage of that so that they are in the best possible situation when Tua gets back if he ever does this year.

The Buffalo Bills are the best team in the league and they will finally beat the Chiefs en route to a Super Bowl Championship

No Stefon Diggs, no problem. You don’t need an elite wide receiver when you have a Josh Allen. Josh Allen has shown traits that only people like Patrick Mahomes, Matthew Stafford, and Tom Brady have shown. The ability to produce through the air without elite receivers, and the ability to make okay WRs into elite WRs. Mahomes won the super bowl with Marquez Valdes-Scantling, Matthew Stafford was the QB for two 1,900 yard WRs in completely different eras, and Tom Brady is Tom Brady, Anyway, one thing Josh has above all of these guys is his ability to extend the play with his legs. Also, are you aware that Josh Allen, through three weeks, has 8 total touchdowns and 0 total turnovers. He is by far the MVP favorite, leading his Bills to a 3-0 record as they look to continue dominating. Another reason this team has broken out is the defense. Even after releasing TreDavious White, Micah Hyde, and Jordan Poyer, even after losing Matt Milano, Sean McDermott is leading an elite defense, who knows how to get stops. Also, shout out to Damar Hamlin, who’s come full circle since his tragic injury.

The Minnesota Vikings’ being undefeated is not a fluke and Sam Darnold is an MVP candidate

I know I said Josh Allen is the MVP favorite, but Sam Darnold is not too far behind. The Vikings, after losing Kirk Cousins, looked to rebuild around JJ McCarthy. However, JJ suffered an injury during the preseason and was ruled out for the year. And ever since Sam Darnold stepped in with one last chance to become and stay a starter, and he hasn’t looked back since. He has the Vikings rolling, with a win over the San Fransisco 49ers and the Houston Texans en route to a 3-0 record. And before week three, the Vikings’ 2-0 record could be chopped down to playing the Giants and an injured 49ers team. However, after a 34-7 win over the Texans, the Vikings look like one of the best teams in the league. It is a long season, but the Vikings are going week by week winning when they can. Coach Kevin MvConnell is working with what he has defensively and offensively and this season has started about as good as it possible could have.

The NFL Season seems to be going really crazy right now. However, eventually the season will straighten out and everything will be going smoothly. Until then, expect a ton of surprising overreactions and upsets. Anyway, until next week.
