The divisional round of the playoffs was a very mixed bag of games. There were some excellent games, and there were just some boring blowouts. I will give a recap of every divisional playoff game if you missed the divisional playoff round. (except for the Cowboys, of course).

Jaguars vs. Chiefs

The Jaguars were not a heavy favorite to win by many, with the Chiefs being favorited by a whopping -480. But they would put up a terrific fight against the Chiefs, but in the end, they would win 27-20. Patrick Mahomes would not have a great game, however, he came down with a sprained ankle and was basically on foot for half the game. He came back from the locker room to start the 3rd quarter, a scary sight for Chiefs fan in an anticapting game. He only threw for 195 yards on 22-30 accuracy and two touchdowns. His top receiver was Travis Kelce, who had 98 yards on 14 receptions and two touchdowns. Their running back, Isiah Pacheco, would have 95 yards on the ground for 12 attempts.

Trevor Lawerence would also have a poor game on Jaguar’s side of the ball, throwing for 217 yards on 24-39 accuracy. He had one touchdown and one interception, which came on a crucial fourth-quarter drive. His top receiver was Zay Jones, with 83 yards receiving on five receptions averaging 16.6 yards. His running back, Travis Etienne Jr., would only have 62 yards on ten carries, with one touchdown.

Nobody excepted the Jags to be here and put up this good fight. Trevor Lawerence has taken a big step up this year and has proven that he can be one of the top QBs in the NFL. If the Jags keep improving, they can make themself legitimate Super Bowl contenders and real threats in the AFC. As for the Chiefs, their next opponent will be the Bengals, it will be a tough match for them, and there is no guarantee for the Chiefs.

Giants vs. Eagles

For many NFL fans, including myself, this game would be a competitive matchup between two excellent NFC East teams. We were all wrong because the Eagles came in and crushed the Giants 38-7. The game was never really competitive since the Eagles scored their first touchdown.

Jalen Hurts would have a solid game, passing for 154 yards on 16-24 accuracy, and had two touchdowns. His top receiver was a surprising Devonta Smith with 61 yards on six receptions and recorded one touchdown. The Eagles’ game was on fire, with Kenneth Gainwell running for 112 yards on 12 carries, averaging 9.3 yards, and recording one touchdown.

On the Giant’s side of the ball, Daniel Jones had a mediocrity game with 135 yards, 15-27 accuracy, no touchdowns, and one interception. His top receiver was Richie James, with 51 yards on seven receptions, averaging 7.3 yards. Their running game was no better, with Saquon Barkley having 61 on nine rushing attempts, averaging 6.8 yards. The only Giants player to score a touchdown during the game was Matt Breida, with an 8-yard touchdown in the 3rd quarter.

Even if this was a terrible loss for the Giants and not a great way to end the season for the Giants, it is a good sign for the franchise. Daniel Jones has proven he can be a very good and elite scramming QB. With a couple more improvements to their roster, the Giants can put themselves an excellent chance to play in the Super Bowl. As for the Eagles, they move on to the NFC championship game against the 49ers.

Bengals vs. Buffalo Bills

The second most anticipated game in the divisional round, with these two teams having a lot on the line in this game. These two teams would meet up during a week 17 matchup. Still, the game would be canceled because Bills player Damar Hamlin suffered a scary injury. Unfortatinualy for Damar (who was at the game), the Bills would end their season with a crushing loss to the Bengals 27-10.

Bengals QB Joe Burrow would have a good game, passing for 242 yards on 23-36 accuracy and recording two touchdowns. His top receiver was fellow LSU player Ja’Marr Chase with 61 yards on five receptions and a touchdown. Their running back Joe Mixon would pick up 105 yards on a whopping 20 carries, averaging 5.3 yards and one touchdown. On the Buffalo Bill’s side of the ball, Josh Allen would have a solid game with 265 yards on 24-42 accuracy. Unfortunately, Allen would have two interceptions, with no touchdowns, one of those interceptions coming during a crucial fourth-down drive. Allen would also lead the team in rushing yards with only 26 yards on eight carries. Allen’s top receiver was Dawson Knox, with 65 yards on five receptions, averaging 13 yards.

For the Buffalo Bills, this marks a heartbreaking loss on what was supposed to be there in the Super Bowl. This Buffalo Bills team looked good all season long, but they were crushed under pressure when it matters the most. Josh Allen has not got away with his turnover problem, and this game has yet to help this notion. It will be an interesting time for the Bills. They will most definitely be back in the playoff snext year. As for the Bengals, they will be playing the Chiefs. They will most certainly be looking for blood after losing to the Bengals last year. It will be a challenging game for the Bengals to win, but if things go there away, they might come back to the Super Bowl.
