On January 13th and 14th of the year 2017, our ex Bishop Greg Kelly, and a multitude of people came to different locations all over Dallas to raise awareness for the children who have died due to abortion and to pray peacefully for an end to abortion.

It started with a mass on Friday at St. Monica, as well as San Juan Diego; and ended with the march on Saturday, from Dallas City Hall to the rally (outside Earle Cabell Federal Courthouse); all of which was coordinated by the Diocese of Dallas, and run by the staff at each location. Jesuit’s own Father Hooks S.J. commented that he “was moved to see so many people from Texas supporting the cause.”

On the presence of the Jesuit community at the event, he continued on to say “it was also special to be there with students and adults I know from my own corner of Dallas. I would definitely go back.” So many people from different places coming together in one area is definitely something to be proud of for this movement. Many Jesuit students woke up early in order to join the Pro-Life community at the event, most leaving behind their routines of sleeping in to support the cause.

As for the students of Jesuit, they met at the school at 8:30 AM for morning prayer and breakfast before they headed downtown for the March. Junior Jacob Totah ’18 commented that “even though it was cold and nasty, there was an overwhelming amount of support from people all over Dallas.” Despite the conditions, which were unfavorable to those who don’t like to be out amidst the muggy weather, many still came, which truly emphasizes the amount of dedication people have towards the Pro-Life movement.
