JV Gold Basketball extended their winning streak to five, adding two victories to the streak against strong opponents in W.T. White and Berkner. The team demonstrated their dominance against teams both at their home court at Jesuit and as the away team through these wins.

On January 13th, the JV Gold Basketball team took on the W.T. White Longhorns before the traditional “Battle for the Saddle” varsity Game that took place later that evening. The Rangers dominated the Longhorns throughout the night, outscoring their opponent 70-50. When asked about the win, Christopher Horton ’18 noted that “everything was clicking and our teamwork was incredible, so we couldn’t be stopped.”

On the Friday of the same week, JV Gold traveled to Richardson to take on Berkner in Berkner’s home gym. Once again, Jesuit dominated their opponent with a convincing win with a score of 63-42, putting up the 4th most points in a game on the season. Horton commented, “Although Berkner started off on fire, with some halftime adjustments we were able to pull out the convincing win in end.” This victory gave Jesuit a 16-2 record.

The team may have defeated both W.T. White and the Berkner Rams this week, but both teams will surely be back for revenge when they meet again for a rematch. Although the team will be away against W.T. White on February 3rd, the Rangers will host the Rams on February 7th in Walsh Gym. Stay tuned for more JV Basketball coverage.
