Sweat drips down the boy’s forehead, running slowly down his face, past his chin as it trickles down his focused expression, eyes targeting the hoop in front of him. The rough, coarse skin of the basketball feels comfortable in the player’s hands. He raises the ball up to his face, his concentration focused on aiming the ball until the swish of the hoop is heard. He calmly takes a breath, holding it in and drowning out the noise of the crowd. The player shoots the ball, soaring through the air until it lands peacefully in the net and the noise of the crowd backs the joy within the player’s depths.

The JV and Freshman basketball teams finished their seasons with astounding success at the tournaments they competed at as well as the various season games with all the teams achieving at least more than 15 wins.
