With an already impressive overall performance this year with a record of 17-16, the Rangers have put out a great show in the programs second year within UIL competition. Within conference the team has refined their approach from friendly matches this year to put up a record of 4-1. Each victory has been by a significant margin of at least seven points. The only loss was to local rival Highland park in a very anticipated second matchup following an earlier friendly in which the Rangers took the win 13-12.

The success of the team comes from both the hard work and experience of the team, last year they had no seniors, an opportunity that allowed many players to gain more playing time and develop skills for this year. The varsity team continues on their current path they have a prime opportunity to win district this year, and hopefully advance further into the playoffs, fulfilling Coach Gall’s goal for the season.

With hopeful prospects for the remainder of the season the team also has an emphasis this year on developing talent within the roster. This focus has led to the fielding of a second Varsity “B” team in multiple tournaments and friendlies with the hopes of maintaining a strong team going into next season despite the graduation of seven seniors, six of whom are starters.
