This past weekend, our very own Jesuit track team made the long trip to Texas Tech for the annual Wes Kittley Under Armour Indoor HS Classic. Taking only our best runners, Jesuit Track looked to start the year fast with some high placing in this highly competitive meet.

Coach Robinson was pleased with his team’s performance, especially this early in the season. The runners expressed how fun it was to go and compete in a great atmosphere like Texas Tech. For some, it was the first time on an indoor track. For others, it was a great opportunity to measure their speed and condition against some of the best in Texas. Junior Sammy McFarland ‘24 had this to say about the meet. “ As a group we did pretty well, but the competition at a big meet like this is always really good. It’s always cool to go compete at a track like Tech’s.” He also expressed his excitement for the season and anticipation on how they do. Our very own editor and chief, Logan Thompson ‘24 also had this to say about his first time at this meet.

“ Everyone was happy with their times and I thought we came off the meet with a lot of confidence. It was also an opportunity to learn what we can work on before our next meet.” –Logan Thompson ’24
