Jesuit’s Cross Country team dashed through the finish line this week with a second place triumph at both North Texas XC Circuit Meet number 3 at North Lakes Park and at the JV-tri meet at Wakeland High School.

North Texas XC Circuit Number 3 at North Lakes Park Result’s

Jesuit managed to finish in second place in both JV and varsity divisions. Seniors Henry Domine and Kyle Kassen led the varsity team. Henry Domine placed fourth with a 16:41 time. Kyle Kassen placed fifth with a 16:59 time. Junior Enrique Borrego placed eighth with a 17:11 time. JV dominated their division with a victory and two other top ten finishes. Firstly, freshman Charlie Thorton finished first with a 18:41 time. Next, junior Ike Pawsat finished eighth with a 19:15 time. Finally, freshman Francisco Almaguer ran with a 19:18 time. Other Jesuit runners include Ben McKinney, Carter Williams, Jack Betz, Brody Pawsat, Adam Stuecheili, James McKinney, Ethan Beyer, Drew Lamberson, Dimitri Christon, Caden Cutchall, Will Carroll, Juan Rodriguez, Jacob Ovenshire, and Jackson Schutze. Congrats to all the runners who ran at the third North Texas XC Circuit.

JV-tri Meet at Wakeland High School Result’s

Jesuit’s JV team took steady strides on Monday, placing second overall. Four of Jesuit’s runners made it within the top ten. Firstly, freshman Charlie Schwartz placed second with a 19:53 time. Next, freshman Burke Martin placed sixth with a 20:24 time. Next, sophmore John Paul Ortega placed eighth with a 20:33 time. Finally, freshman Joseph Castille placed tenth, running a 20:47 time. Other Jesuit runners include Pablo Lopez, Charlie Fent, Ben Albus, Sebastian Rodriguez, Zach Pollard, Peter Loh, Jacob Morales, Austin Keith, Nicolas Ferraez, Ryan Visokay, Evan Velsquez, and Nick Lawrence. Congrats to all the runners who ran at the Wakeland High School JV-tri meet.

What did the runners think?

Kyle Kassen 21′ said that “The Levee at the last 800 meters was daunting, but everyone pushed ahead and finished in great places. This was a meet where I think we really made a statement.”

Carter Williams 21′ thought that “The course was a little longer than expected, but team overall had a solid performance.”

Conclusion

It seems that despite difficult courses and long races Jesuit pushed through with a solid race. May Jesuit’s Cross Country team have good luck at their next meet!
