The Ranger’s bowling squad would have quite the day this last Saturday. With two games on the schedule, both having a large part in their playoff contention. In order for the Rangers to make the playoffs they would have to have quite the day. The first team would be a very good Flower Mound Marcus team and the second being the Irving Nimitz Vikings.

Flower Mound Marcus

The first match would kickoff at an early 9:30 am start. The Rangers would be facing one of the toughest teams in the district in the Marauders. The first match was highlighted by star Marauder Tyler Bowling, who bowled an unreal 258 points. Bowling bowled a consecutive 10 strikes and earned the respect of all watching. Chase Hollman was the highlight for the Rangers in the first match as he would go for 201. The second matchup against Marcus would be much more favorable for the Rangers as we would have 2 bowlers break 200 in Will Mina ’22 and Kevin Martinez ’25. Heading into the baker games the Rangers would be down 5-2. The Rangers would sadly lose the next two baker games leading to a 9-2 loss against a very talented team in Flower Mound Marcus.

 Irving Nimitz

Heading into the second game of the day the Rangers would need a big win over the Nimitz Vikings in order to claim a playoff spot. Thankfully the Rangers would deliver a decisive 15-0 shutout. Highlighting this victory would be a 224 point game from Kevin Martinez ’25 in the first matchup. The freshman has had quite the season and has emerged as one of the top bowlers on the team. The second highest scorer for the Rangers would be Chase Hollman ’24 who bowled a combined 309 points in 2 matchups. The Rangers would then go on to dominate the baker games leading to their shutout. This dominant performance would help propel the Rangers into the playoffs with plenty of momentum.

Ranger fans don’t worry as the bowling team will be competing in the District tournament on Saturday the 26th at USA bowl. Thank you for reading and we hope to see you supporting the Rangers this Saturday.
