Each belt tells a story about the person wearing it. Whether it’s extravagant and colorful or muted and conservative, every belt has a bit of history behind it.

On March 21, the Entrepreneurship Club released their own new line of Jesuit belts. Hoping to create a professional accessory that emphasizes a student’s Jesuit pride, the club designed a stylish belt with a classic design. With the potential to complete a great number of outfits, this belt can complement anything from the typical Jesuit uniform to a casual look outside of school. Sold in the Ranger Connection, the one-size-fits-all belts sell for a moderate price of $30, a meager amount considering the years of enjoyment that one could get from this belt.

The belt is marked by a repeating pattern of gold J's on a blue background.

Despite the price, the belts are of excellent quality, explained  James Schroeder ’15, president of the Entrepreneurship Club. He explained, “We were privileged to have a Jesuit alum’s dad make the belt and because he was so supportive of the club, he gave us a very good price for a very quality belt.” Dominic Iannelli ’15, who has already purchased a belt, commented “So far, I am really impressed with the belt’s quality. The leather seems very durable and the fabric is finely stitched.” This belt can fit into any wardrobe and certainly any budget.

Schroeder noted that the belts “help the club with the implementation of its fundraising and show the club members a real business venture and a real application.” A great example of both the consumer and the producer benefiting in a business transaction, the belts have great potential, he said.

As a more visible sign of one’s commitment to Jesuit, the belt allows the wearer to illustrate a bit about their ideals. It shows a great deal about the community to see students to represent their school so openly. Schroeder commented “What’s great about these belts is that they look really good and you can wear them outside of Jesuit, at golf or church or whatever it may be.”

Although someone who buys it might just want to put it on immediately, they must first make sure to adjust it their size. When purchased, the belt is quite large to accommodate all buyers.

The belt is made of both fabric and brown leather.

For those with a smaller waist, the belt can be very easily cut down to fit. As easy as taking off the belt buckle and cutting it with some scissors, the process is easy and quick. A satisfied customer, Iannelli, called on other students to buy the belt, saying “I would encourage others to buy one because they are reasonably priced and allow students to show their Jesuit pride.”
